There is something magical in every breath we take.
In Chinese, energy is called qi. In the Yogic tradition, it is called prana. In both teachings, there is an emphasis on the proper flow of energy through our bodies, through our lives, through our minds. And it is with the proper balance and flow of qi/prana that we find fullness and contentment in life.
The breath is the only automatic bodily function that we can finely control. We can decide how quickly and deeply with inhale and exhale, and how we control our breath has a molecular effect on our bodies.
